Gary is the principal of CI Accountancy and has been an accountant in practice since 1987. His experience spans many countries and jurisdictions. Gary was also one of the first members of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners in 1995. STEP is now a global professional body for Trust specialists, Gary remains active within the organization, being a member of the regional management committee and the UK national committee.
Having originally trained and worked in Jersey, Gary has a strong background in tourism and related leisure and licensing industries. Also with respect to trusts and taxation relating to inheritance and capital gains planning, particularly in relation to those owning assets in foreign jurisdictions.
Gary and his wife own a small holding with a stable yard, giving a particular insight into farming, estates and equine industries. He is a former international water polo player, and enthusiastic (but not very good) rugby player. His hobbies are being an equally enthusiastic and passionate supporter of rugby, fishing and cooking.
Les became a Director and Partner of CI Accountancy in October 2010. He has over 25 years experience in high street banking, dealing with businesses of all sizes. In 2005 Les left banking to set up his own business consultancy, Business Support Direct, motivated by his desire to work closely with both new and existing businesses to help them grow and develop. Les is professionally qualified with management, customer service and sales experience. Les specialises in Business Planning, Finance, Business Development and Business Start-ups.
Within Les’s role at CI Accountancy he is responsible for operations, client services provision and marketing and takes the lead on business advisory and consultancy services. Les is a strong believer in providing excellent customer service and states “excellent customer service is not achieved by meeting expectations, but by exceeding them”.
Les lives in Hexham with this wife. His main hobbies are playing golf (not very well) and watching any kind of sport on TV. In any remaining spare time Les is an enthusiastic member of English Heritage, having a passion for visiting castles.
Shaun joined CI Accountancy in 2008 after studying for a BSc in Mathematics at Loughborough University and went on to achieve his ACCA qualification in 2013. During his time at CI Accountancy Shaun has gained a wealth of experience both internationally and locally. Shaun provides a professional service that meets the best interests of the clients and their businesses. In particular he enjoys working closely with clients to help resolve their queries. He is an active member of Mid Tyne Business Forum and has represented the practice at the annual Business Planning Conference.
As part of his role at CI Accountancy Shaun is responsible for International and Personal Tax returns as well as Cloud Accountancy options.
In his spare time Shaun enjoys playing golf, watching football and is an enthusiastic Newcastle United fan.
Jackie Wolloms – Finance Manager
Jackie has been with C I Accountancy for over 12 years and is primarily responsible for the management and operation of the Finance department. Jackie has many years’ experience in both finance and administration and her effective management style is always appreciated by the Directors. Jackie is also responsible for some of C I Accountancy’s larger clients providing a management accountancy service direct to these clients. Jackie controls the Company finances, including issuing invoices and chasing debtors so if you haven’t paid us it will be Jackie chasing you! Outside of work, Jackie enjoys her holidays and spending time with her family.
Fiona Little – Assistant Accountant
Fiona joined C I Accountancy as a school leaver and her potential was quickly realised. Starting at the bottom she had a drive and commitment that always impressed. Her progress has been exceptional, both with her development and advancement within the Practice and with her academic achievements, having obtained her AAT qualification in 2016. Fiona has been responsible for the expansion of the C I Accountancy’s on-site bookkeeping service, providing bookkeeping and management accounts at the clients premises, and has established many excellent client relationships. As a qualified AAT, Fiona is regularly involved in the preparation and completion of business accounts and personal tax returns and is always ready and willing to talk to clients about any issues or answer any questions. Fiona is very involved in her local community in Bellingham and enjoys time outdoors walking her dog.
Laura Hornsby – Assistant Accountant
Laura joined C I Accountancy in June 2017 having previously worked as an in-house Accountant with a large PLC. Laura has a wealth of management accountancy experience together with good all round accountancy training. In addition, Laura is completing her professional exams and will soon be fully qualified. Laura is very enthusiastic and committed and is always keen to talk to clients and local businesses about their business and how she can help. Away from work when Laura is not studying she enjoys bootcamp classes and spends most weekends helping her partner renovate houses.
Tracy Graham – Payroll Manager
Tracy joined C I Accountancy in February 2016 after 14 years working in a local Car Franchise Dealership where Tracy was responsible for the Payroll, Accounts, HR and Staff Training. Tracy’s role at C I Accountancy is as the Payroll Manager and includes processing client’s Payroll and completing the mandatory HMRC RTI Submissions. Tracy also advises on PAYE, NI obligations and Auto Enrolment (work place pension) requirements and gets involved with client Bookkeeping and preparation of VAT Returns. Tracy lives in Hexham and has 2 grown up children. She enjoys spending time with family & friends, looking after her home & garden, going to rock concerts and is an avid follower of MotoGP.
Nicky Hall – Administrator
Nicky joined CI Accountancy in October 2015 as Office Administrator, after 11 years working as the assistant supervisor on a local garage forecourt. Nicky’s role includes client liaison, sales and marketing and organising the office! Nicky is usually the first point of contact for anybody getting in touch with C I Accountancy. She really enjoys talking to people so is perfect for the role – if you want to contact us please feel free and ask for Nicky. Nicky moved to Hexham 20 years ago, from the small country village of Blanchland where she grew up. A local girl with lots of useful local knowledge which regularly comes in handy for a business based in Hexham town centre. In her spare time, she enjoys getting outdoors including helping out on a friends farm.
